The main idea behind the emulator is to skip all the second level security that Adobe use, and to calculate all the settings in the "slightly" different way, but making sure everything still works good with the existing Adobe app.

One can use this emulator with any Adobe app, except those that use flash: the most popular of these is Adobe Flash Builder 4, although not using it is ok as well. These apps do not make any changes to the device settings, only to the preferences, which emulates the Adobe settings just fine.

The tool remembers the previous settings of the existing Adobe app. Because older emulators do not use the settings from the existing Adobe app, this feature adds extra complexity, but makes the emulator recognize different Adobe apps in its database. For example, if you use Flash Builder 3 to edit the existing preferences, the emulator will have the settings from Flash Builder 3 inside of it, setting the system as if you have Flash Builder 4 instead.

The emulator supports installation on any Windows (7, 8.1, 10) and Mac (10.9, 1.X, 2.X) systems; installation on the Mac and on the older Windows versions is a bit buggy, more on this later in the changelog. Support of Linux is planned for further versions. d2c66b5586
