Lindsey Graham on Wednesday pushed the Senate Judiciary Committee to release the report from special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation on his potential conflict of interest, claiming President Donald Trump's critics are stalling in order to ultimately bury it.
Democrats have slammed Republicans for being more concerned with attacking the former special counsel's credibility than doing the necessary work of reviewing the report. Republicans on the committee have, however, argued that because there is no underlying evidence in Mueller's report that is relevant to the committee's investigation, it is not their responsibility to review it.
But the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley, has said he's been concerned about the investigation into the Justice Department's handling of the Russia investigation, which is run by the Department of Justice, for months now, and vowed that he would come to the committee's defense.
Graham on Wednesday lashed out at Democrats for not supporting Grassley's committee in releasing the report, calling on them to "put your money where your mouth is."
"It's just the way things are done in the Senate," the South Carolina Republican told reporters when asked about the lack of Democrats on the committee calling to release the report.
"I agree with Sen. Grassley. If you want to get it, go and get it. I want it, I want it in no uncertain terms. We got to find out what's going on here. I agree that Bob Mueller has been a fine public servant, but I do think he's been misled by an attorney 0b46394aab
