And now, NordicTrack is sweetening the pot even more, by offering a free machine with the purchase of a four-year iFit Family Membership plan. In addition to the NordicTrack C1100i treadmill, the S15i bike, the Spacesaver SE7i, and the RW700 rower can all be had for the purchase of the iFit package alone at $39 per month.

iFit is an all-in-one fitness app. Its vibrant Google Street View workouts stand out in treadmill ads, but the app also provides workout programs in traditional formats and is an easy-to-use health tracker. A true virtual coach, iFit uses data about your sleep time, diet, and exercise to make fitness suggestions.

Which fitness machines work with iFit? Four fitness equipment brands build iFit-friendly machines: ProForm, NordicTrack, FreeMotion, and Reebok (These brands share the same parent company: Icon Health and Fitness). iFit Coach works with many of their treadmills, elliptical trainers, and exercise bikes.

JD Howard just wanted to watch cloud security tutorials. Howard, a construction industry worker on sabbatical, spent $4,000 on a NordicTrack X32i treadmill, lured in by its 32-inch HD screen and the opportunity to exercise body and mind. His plan was to spend his time away from work exercising while watching technical videos from learning platforms such as Pluralsight and Udemy. But his treadmill had other ideas.

While both companies produce fitness equipment like bikes, treadmills, rowers, and weights, as well as virtual fitness platforms that customers can use for guided workouts, there are still some differences, including company age, price, and studio offerings.

You can also use iFit without the NordicTrack equipment, but their membership fee stays the same at $39 per month. If you have a tablet, you can prop it up on any treadmill, bike, or floor space and stream your workouts just as you would on a Peloton or NordicTrack machine.

The NordicTrack C2050 is an older model treadmill for in-home use. It is no longer available in 2011 as a new product, although you may find used units available. This treadmill offers some advanced features such as iFit interactive technology and built-in workout programs that control the intensity settings for you.

Users can employ the 10 quick-set speed buttons on the console to quickly change the speed of the belt. The walking deck is cushioned, and the treadmill folds up to a vertical position. It has wheels on the base so you can roll it to a storage area. The hand rails have metal pulse sensors so you can check your heart rate at any time during your workout. The console features a fan on each side to help keep you cool.

Each of the eight built-in workout programs is divided into 20, 30 or 40 one-minute segments. The C2050 automatically changes the speed and incline at the beginning of each period and you can create and save two custom workouts on the treadmill. You can also choose the length of the workout and select an incline and speed setting for each one-minute segment. The treadmill saves the program in memory so you can select it for a future workout.

IFit interactive technology allows you to connect the NordicTrack C2050 treadmill to your computer or stereo with the included audio cables. You can purchase iFit CD's or download workouts from the iFit website. With your treadmill connected to your stereo or computer, the treadmill automatically adjusts the speed and incline for you while a virtual personal trainer guides you through the workout, offering motivation and instruction. The iFit workouts include background music to infuse your workout with a high energy atmosphere.

Your treadmill will either be iFit enabled, which means you can see everything right on your machine, or iFit Bluetooth ready, which means you can view it on your phone or tablet if the machine does not have a touch screen to view it on.

In the summer of 2022 NordicTrack introduced a new line, the Elite treadmills, which are very similar to the Incline Trainers, except they have swiveling consoles that you can move to your desired angle and a few other spec differences. Some of the other models, like the Commercial 2450, was upgraded.

As far as iFit, on some NordicTrack treadmills, when you go to purchase, you have the option of a 30-day iFit membership OR a 1-year iFit membership. So you can choose which one you prefer. The membership is built into the cost of the treadmill. After the membership period, you can renew at $39 per month or $396 per year, respectively. So the price has not changed since last we checked.

Over at ProForm, the Pro Series comes with 30 days of iFit included; as does the City L6, Carbon T7 and T14. The mid-level Carbon T10 comes free with a 3 year iFit membership (no cost for the treadmill itself)

It looks like they have made some changes to the iFit program. Where as before many of the treadmills and other cardio equipment came with one year free of iFit, now it is just one month free. With NordicTrack and ProForm you now get a 30 day family membership. Once the trial period is over, you can choose an individual membership at just $15/month or $144 yearly, or continue the family membership at $39/month or $396 yearly.

All of the NordicTrack treadmills were updated for 2021, and currently a FREE one year iFit Family Membership comes with all of them, from the base T 6.5 Si to the top of the line Commercial X32i. So you can try out the program at no cost to see how you like it.

Over at ProForm, only the Pro Series was updated for 2021. The Pro 2000 and Pro 9000 received a substantial makeover, and it looks like the mid-range Pro 5000 might be discontinued. Just like with NordicTrack, all ProForm treadmills from the new City L6 up to the Pro Series come with a one year free iFit Family Membership.

It looks like the free treadmill deals are still going on in 2020. You can still get the ProForm SMART Pro 2000 treadmill and other cardio machines for free if you sign up for 3 years of iFit. NordicTrack is still offering one free year of iFit on most of their treadmills, but none for free with membership.

The new X32i Incline Trainer joins the X22i and X11i models. All three currently come with one year free of iFit, as do all of the other NordicTrack treadmills except the C700, on which iFit membership is optional.

Also, NordicTrack is including iFit for one year free on all of their treadmills except the entry level C700. So all of the other C series, Commercial and Incline Trainers now have a full year of iFit Coach for free.

When we last checked, iFit Coach Plus was required on all NordicTrack Incline Trainers and Commercial treadmills. It is $39 per month and comes with a FREE iFit Vue wearable device and FREE adjustable dumbbells. On other NordicTrack treadmills (C Series, Desks) and all ProForm treadmills it is optional, and the cost is $180 for one year or $270 for two years. On those models it is iFit Coach and not iFit Coach Plus. Note that the prices seem to change fairly regularly, so they might be offering different deals when you purchase your new treadmill.

The iFIT module downloads the workouts in the treadmill console through the WiFi internet connection. Speed and Incline are automatically controlled during the workout. All you need to do is follow the instructions the trainer gives you verbally.

The NordicTrack A2050 is a compact, folding treadmill designed for residential use only, with a maximum user load of 300 pounds 1. Although the A2050 is an older treadmill model, produced in 2004, it offers some advanced features, such as iFit technology and built-in fitness programs that control the incline and speed settings for you. You won't find the A2050 new anymore, but you may find used units for sale.

The console features an electronic display, a book holder, two accessory trays and a built-in fan with four running modes: low, medium, high and auto, which changes the speed of the fan as the speed of the belt changes. The electronic display provides information about your workout, including incline level, elapsed time, approximate calories burned, approximate grams of carbs burned, heart rate, speed and pace, as measured in minutes per mile. An odometer button on the console shows the total miles the walking belt has moved since the treadmill was purchased, the total miles walked since the odometer was last cleared and the distance covered during the current workout.

The NordicTrack A2050 includes eight preset programs. Each program is divided into 20, 30 or 40 one-minute segments and each segment has one speed and one incline setting controlled by the treadmill. The A2050 also includes two heart rate programs. When selecting a heart rate program, first choose your maximum heart rate, which the program will not exceed. The program is divided into 20 one-minute segments, each one with a target heart rate. The treadmill adjusts the speed and incline to keep your heart rate near this target rate. You must wear the optional chest-pulse sensor to use the heart rate programs.

Use a stereo audio cable to connect the A2050 to your stereo, MP3 player, CD player or computer. Purchase iFit CDs or online workouts to use with your NordicTrack treadmill. iFit programs control the incline and speed settings as a personal trainer walks you through the workout and music plays in the background.
